Obituaries

Jake A. Price 20, of Pittsburg , KS died 7:45am Monday January 11,
2010 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City , KS following a long illness.
Jake was born January 10, 1990 in Pittsburg , KS to Mark and Cindy
(Reinier) Price. He lived in Pittsburg most of his young life except for
eight he resided in Anchorage Alaska . He attended Bay Shore
Elementary in Anchorage , AK ; NE Elementary in Arma , KS ; NE Junior
High and High School in Arma , KS ; and 2 years at Pittsburg State
University were he was majoring in Psychology and Diversity Studies. He
was a cook at the Mall Deli for 5 years.
He was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church in Arma , KS .
He was a member of Mirza Shriners, Masonic Lodge #187, Boys State as
a student and counselor, Scholars Bowl in High School, Autism Speaks
Association, 2010 Gubernatorial Candidate, involved in speech and
forensics, and took part in Crawford County Teen Court . He enjoyed
collecting coins, playing piano, saxophone, was known as a pool hustler,
always need a book in his hand, was always close to his family, friends
and never met a stranger. He also joined the Army in May and was
scheduled for deployment in October, but due to his illness was medically
discharged.
Survivors include his parents of Pittsburg , KS ; paternal grandparents
John and Susan Price of Arma , KS ; Tim and Nina Presley of Springfield
, MO ; maternal grandfather Frank Reinier of Pittsburg , KS ; Godparents
Richard Steckel and Mary Marshall of Anchorage , AK ; and many aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Linda Reineir.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Saturday January 16, 2010 at Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Pittsburg , KS with Pastor Ashley Masoni officiating.
Burial will take place at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg , KS .
Masonic Rites will be recited at 6pm Friday January 15, 2010 at the
Funeral Home with family receiving friends immediately following until
8pm . Friends may pay their respect at the funeral home after 11am on
Friday. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the
form of memorials to the Histiocyte Society. Friends may drop off or mail
memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS
