PITTSBURG — Barbara E. (Jaynes) Meyer, 76 of Pittsburg, KS, and
Joplin, MO. died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Mt. Carmel in Pittsburg,
KS.
Barbara was born September 9th, 1933 in Blue Springs, NE to Cecil J.
and Mabel E. (Crowner) Cummings. She attended schools in Neosho,
MO.
Barbara married Sammie Jaynes March 5th, 1951. They were Married 19
years, and had four children together, She later married Wesley Wayne
"Hink" Meyer residing in Weir, KS. for 15 years,
Barbara worked for Elm Acres Youth & Family Services of Pittsburg, KS
for 14 years as a bookkeeper. She later worked at Hix Corporation of
Pittsburg as an Administration Assistant retiring in1997.
Barbara attended the Cherokee Baptist Church.
She volunteered making costumes for alot of the plays at the theater in
Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium for years.
She is survived by her sons Mike Jaynes of Joplin, MO, Mitch Jaynes,
and his wife Bobbie of Joplin; daughters Michele Kruger of S. Lake
Tahoe, CA, Melanie (Jaynes) Geier of Cherokee, KS; sister Marline
Casey of Albuquerque, NM; brother Jim Cummings and wife Carol Jean of
Rapid City, S. Dakota; six grandsons Jeremy Kruger and wife Andreea,
Jesse Kruger, Josh Jaynes, Travis Geier and Terri Ogden, Cody and
Rusty Geier; along with 4 great-grandsons Matthew Chris Kruger and
Norman Travis Geier, Nathan and Zachary Ogden.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son-in-
law Chris Kruger and brother-in-law Lec Casey.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, December 7, 2009 at Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS. Private family
