Obituaries
COLUMBUS — Berea Iona McMullen, 93, of Columbus, formerly of West
Mineral, Kan., died at 12:10pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at
Medicalodge of Columbus.

Berea was born March 22, 1917 in Columbus, KS to Harry and Effie
(Griffin) Dill. She attended area schools, graduating from the Cherokee
County Community High School with the class of 1935.

On June 4, 1939, in Columbus, KS, she married W.G. “Mac” McMullen.
He preceded her in death on June 6, 2005.

Berea was a homemaker. She attended the United Methodist Church in
West Mineral for many years.

Survivors include her sons Philip G. McMullen and wife Jean of Littleton,
CO; W. James McMullen and wife Pat and H.L. McMullen and wife Diana
all of Bailey, CO; sisters Marvella Ricketts of Haysville, KS and Edna
Robinson of Joplin, MO and her twin brothers Ervin Dill and wife Edna
and Mervin Dill and wife Leta all of Columbus, KS; along with six
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Berea was preceded in death by her parents; sister Fontella Niggeman;
brothers Harrison L. and Calvin Dill.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 201,0 at the First
Presbyterian Church of Columbus with Pastor Susan Rosenbaum and
Rev. Dennis Johnson co-officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn
Cemetery. Informal visitation will be from 12noon until 6pm on Monday at
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 611 S. East Ave., Columbus. E-mail

suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the
United Methodist Church of West Mineral and/or the First Presbyterian
