Obituaries
Marjorie Longan, 79 of Frontenac died at 8:04 a.m. Friday May 14, 2010
at her home in Frontenac.

    She was born June 8, 1930 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Farris
and Stena (Corey) Martinous.  She was a lifetime resident of the
Pittsburg/Frontenac area.  She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School
and a 1951 graduate of Kansas State Teachers College.

    Marjorie married James (Jim) Longan on September 11, 1952 in
Pittsburg; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1996.

    She, along with her husband were the owner/operator of Longan
Floral and Garden Center from 1969 until their retirement in October of
1995.

    She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  A
member of American Nursery a member of Greenhouse Growers of
America and the St. Mary’s Alter Society.

    Survivors include a son Dan Longan and wife Debbie of Pittsburg; a
daughter Linda Fox and husband Charlie of Girard; 2 brothers-Mose
Martinous of Joplin, MO, Raymond Martinous of Frontenac; a sister
Freda Wilson of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren-David Logan and fiancé
Courtney Shafer, Dane Longan, Logan Hirst, Delaney Hirst, Jennifer
Arroyo, Brian Fox and Angela Ashmore; and seven Great-great-
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
brothers-Lester and John Martinous, 3-sisters Wanda Finn, Hazel Wilson
and Emma Barnes.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday May 17, 2010 at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Thomas Stroot
as celebrant.  A family greeting will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time
on Monday at the church prior to the Mass.  Burial will follow in the
Highland Park Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Bath-Naylor Funeral
Home after 10 a.m. Monday.  Condolences can be sent to www.
