Dorothy Anna Lacy, 92 of Webb City, MO, formerly of Girard died at
3:39 am, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Joplin, MO.
She was born February 16, 1919in Texas, the daughter of
Chauncey Hughes and Gladyne Rebecca (Williams) Hill. She grew up
and attended schools in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Parsons, Kansas and
graduated from Parsons High School in 1939.
She married Carl E.“Pete” Lacy in 1952. He preceded her in death
on November 27, 1985.
She worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons,
Western Auto in Pittsburg, and she retired from Pittsburg Radio Supply in
1981 where she was the bookkeeper for many years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard, the
Disciples Women, First Christian Church Guild, and the Loyal Bereans
Sunday school class. She was a member of the Business and
Professional Women’s Club and a charter/founding member of the SEK
Humane Society, both in Pittsburg.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky Martino and husband Fred of
Webb City, Missouri; a step-son,Dave Lacy and wife Shirley of Lee’s
Summit, Missouri; her brother, Ron Hill of Parsons; her good friend Mary
Lou Konek of Pittsburg,a grandson, Travis Martino and wife Joni of
Murphy, TX and their children,Sophia and Lola Martino; her step-
grandchildren, Steve Lacy, Lori Lacy, and Kathy Brock; numerous
nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren, great-nephews,and great-
nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Hal Hill, and her sisters
Mary Schubert and Helen Murphy.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at
the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Rev. Doug Amend
officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg.
