Nita Eppinger Harris, daughter of Clarence C. and Minnie Griffin
Eppinger, was born in the old family home on Eppinger Bridge Road in
Pike County Georgia on the 29th of December 1921. Mrs. Harris was
one of fourteen children, eleven of whom survived. She was married to
Jack Robert Harris on the 4th of January 1943 in Meridian Mississippi.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris made their home in several communities in Kansas

Mrs. Harris was a gentle loving mother, grandmother and great
grandmother that will be dearly missed but not forgotten by those
fortunate enough to have been a part of her life. She was recognized
by those who met her as a southern lady. Though most of her life was
spent in Kansas her Georgia manners remained as timeless as the red
soil she helped her family farm as a young girl. The last five years of
her life was spent at the Sunset Manor Nursing Center of Frontenac
Kansas where she was affectionately known as “Peaches”. Survivors
include daughter Brenda Fenske(Larry) of Pittsburg Kansas, as well as
sons Jack Robert Harris Jr.(Carol) of San Antonio Texas and Marc
Harris(Andree) of Opelousas Louisiana. Nita is also survived by five
grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She has two surviving
sisters: Mae Eppinger Hardy of Covington Georgia & Virginia Eppinger
Moore of Atlanta Georgia.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband Jack as well as son
Charles Victor Harris, who died in infancy.
A private family inurnment will be in the Sunset Cemetery Manhattan
Kansas. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com
