Obituaries
Imogene McAfee Glass, 85 of Columbus, KS passed away Thursday,
December 29, 2011 at Medicalodge in Columbus. She was born
December 25, 1926 in McRae, Arkansas, the daughter of Dewey and
Mattie Gertrude (Magness) McAfee. Imogene lived in Rosebud,
Arkansas for the first part of her life, before moving to Kansas City,
Kansas where she lived for 21 years. She later moved to Memphis,
Tennessee. After 5 years in Memphis she moved to Columbus in 1980.
She married Thomas Alonzo Nelson April 14, 1942 in Arkansas. They
later divorced in spring of “73. He preceded her in death Jan 12,
2011. She later married John Thomas Glass on August 15, 1975 in
Alabama. He preceded her in death August 31, 1989. Imogene was a
member of Columbus United Methodist Church; She was a member of
the Eastern Star Pursel Chapter #110 where she was the Past Matron,
Past District Aide and Past Grand Representative in Columbus. Other
memberships included the Extension Homemakers club and the Maude
Norton Hospital Auxiliary of Columbus.
Survivors include 2 sons, Ronald Nelson and wife Cherry of Columbus;
Edward Dean “Eddie” Nelson and wife Susan of Kansas City. 1
daughter, Kathy Jean Nelson Debusk of Heber Springs, Arkansas. A
sister, Mary Catherine Stark of Searcy, Arkansas. 6 Grandchildren,
Lelland Scott Graham, Theresa Elizabeth Mills, Eugene Carl Nelson,
Wendy Jane Zustiak, Warren Matthew Debusk and Larry Edward
Debusk. 12 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Culter; 2
grandsons, Kenneth Eugene Coleman and Russel Wayne Graham. 7
brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31 at Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus with Pastor Dennis Johnson
officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 10:00 A.M. until Service time Saturday. Condolences may be sent

out to The American Cancer Society. Memorials may be dropped off or
mailed to 611 S. East Ave. Columbus, Kansas 66725. Arrangements
are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus.
