Gary L. Gaches, 65 of Cherokee, KS died Friday June 7, 2013 at his
home in Cherokee.

He was born July 2, 1947 in Oakland, CA the son of Willard and Mary
(Wilson) Gaches. He lived in the Southeast Kansas most of his life, with
the exception of a few years when he lived in Kansas City and Chicago,

Gary married Jill Trier on March 7, 1968 in Kansas City, KS; she
preceded him in death on March 11, 2007.

He worked for Sante Fe Railroad and construction with his 2 sons Steve
and Jeff but above all else he was a husband, a son, a brother, a
friend, a father and a beloved grandfather, which to him, was his most
important job.

Gary was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Cherokee
American Legion.

Survivors include 2 sons Steve Gaches of Cherokee and Jeff Gaches
of Galena; 4 brothers, Ronnie Gaches of Duenweg, MO, Glen Gaches
of Shell Knob, MO; Larry Gaches of Springfield, MO; Scott Gaches of
Wichita, KS and a sister Karla Walters of Wichita; 4 Grandchildren
Kaylea, Shelbie and Bo Gaches and Anthony Forbes; and 1
Great-grandchild, Allea Hargis. He was preceded in death by his
parents, wife and a sister Louise Gaches.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Thursday June 13th at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date
in the Crocker Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to
