Obituaries
Jett Heavin Earl 97, of Pittsburg, KS died 11:35am January 7, 2012 at
Cornerstone Village in Pittsburg, KS following and illness.  
Jett was born July 18, 1914 in Quapaw, OK the daughter of John
Wesley Heavin and Nancy Jane Heavin.
Jett lived in Baxter Springs, KS and Columbus, KS as a girl and
graduated from Cherokee County Community High School.  After
School she worked for Dr. Westbrook for several years in Columbus,
KS.  
She married Joe Earl in 1941 in Noel, MO and was married 57 years.  
During the war she followed her husband and worked in Civil Service.  
After the war they settled in the Kansas City area living in
Independence, MO, Kansas City, KS and finally settling in Bonner
Springs, KS.  She worked for Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City,
KS for 27 years retiring in 1974.  She and her husband raised Irish
Settlers and at one time was President of the Kansas City Chapter of
Irish Setters Club of America.  
Survivors include nieces Billie Faye Courtney of Bonner Springs, KS,
Lucille Starrett of Columbus, KS, Rose Eagleson of Columbus, KS and
Margaret Richardson of Baxter Springs, KS; caretakers Edd and Ruth
Bradney of Pittsburg, KS.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, 4
brothers, 2 nephews and a niece.  
Graveside Services will be 10:30am Tuesday January 10, 2012 at the
Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, KS with Pastor Shirley Halpain
officiating.  Informal visitation will be from 12-7pm Monday January 9,
2012 at the Bath Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.  In lieu of
flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of
memorials to Via Christi Cornerstone Village of Pittsburg, KS.  Friends
may drop off or mail memorials to Bath Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.  E-mail condolences may be left at
