Obituaries
Vivian Irene Burnett, 91 of Frontenac, KS, formerly of Stafford, KS died at
11:33am, Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Oakview Estates in
Frontenac, KS.
Vivian was born July 28, 1918 in St. John, KS to Fredrick “Fred” and
Mabel (Drake) Williams. She attended schools there, graduating from St.
John High School.
On August 4, 1958, in Clayton, N.M., she married Raburn Avon Burnett.
He survives of the home.
Vivian worked as a clerk for the Garden City Courthouse. She later was a
teacher’s aide at the George Matthews Elementary School in Garden
City, KS, helping with the special education program.
Vivian was a former precinct chairman for the Garden City, KS voting
polls. She was avid book reader and collector.
Additional survivors include her daughters Delores Dater and husband
Silver of Lenexa, KS, Beth King of Arvada, CO and Patsy Williams of
Corpus Christi, TX; sons Gary Duvall and wife Barbara of Foss, OK, Jerry
Duvall and wife Wendy of Lamar, Mo, Keith Duvall of Grove, OK and
Kevin Burnett and wife Marjie of Reno, NV; along with 25 grandchildren
and numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great
grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Victor and Harold
Williams, daughter-in-law Lynn Duvall, son-in-laws James King and
Kenneth Williams, grandson Kerry King and a great grandson Nicholas
Turner.
Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Fairview
Park Cemetery in St. John, KS with Pastor Jim Dillon officiating. The
family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at the cemetery.
The family suggests expression of sympathy be in the form of memorials
to the Nora E. Larabee Memorial Library. Memorial may be sent to the
