Obituaries
Robert W. Broadhurst, 81 of Louisburg, KS, formerly of Pittsburg, KS
died at 11:05am, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Louisburg Health Care
Center.
Bob was born June 28, 1928 in Pittsburg, KS to William Lee and Minnie
Lavon (Fredrick) Broadhurst. He attended grade and high school in
Pittsburg.
Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corp in 1946, and
honorably discharged in 1947. While serving he was stationed in San
Anna California and was a mechanic on airplanes.
On December 31, 1947, in Pittsburg, KS, he married Louise Humbard.
She survives of the home.
Bob worked with his father for several years in Pittsburg. When he moved
to Louisburg, he worked for Rosner Ford Co for 5 years. He later was the
owner/operator of Louisburg Body Shop, retiring in 1993.
Bob was a sportsman in hunting, fishing and golf, where he was playing
in a lot of tournaments. He was a member of the American Legion in
Louisburg.
Additional survivors include his sons Ricky Broadhurst of Louisburg and
Rodney Broadhurst and wife Sherry of Bucyrus, KS and two
grandchildren Nick and Amanda Broadhurst; along with a host of nieces
and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Broadhurst and
nephew David Broadhurst.
Graveside services will be 1:00pm, Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Mt. Olive
Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating and flag
presentation will be given by the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post
#64 of Pittsburg, KS. Informal visitation will be 11am until 12:30pm on
Friday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS.

family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to
the Olathe Hospice and/or the American Cancer Society. Memorials may
