Obituaries
Mary M. Bartley, 66 of Pittsburg, KS died at 6:41pm, Sunday, January 10,
2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Mary was born April 14, 1943 in Pittsburg, KS to Lonnie N. and Anna L.
“Lou” (Oehme) Gustin. She attended area schools, graduating from St.
Mary’s High School with the class of 1961.
On October 10, 1972 in Pittsburg, KS, she married Ralph E. Bartley, Jr.
He survives of the home.
Mary was the co-owner/co-operator of the Dairy Queen Stores in
Pittsburg. She later worked at the Wolf’s Den Tanning Salon.
Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac.
She attended Perpetual Adoration regularly at the Sacred Heart Catholic
Church. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Mary was
an avid bowler, belonging to the Pittsburg Ladies League at the Holiday
Lanes.  Mary loved people and she never met a stranger.
Additional survivors include her daughters Dawn Sitz and husband Jeff of
Carbondale, KS and Amy Bartley and friends Lisa Cobb and Jill Mundorf
all of Pittsburg; sons Ryan Bartley of Sarasota, FL and Ralph E. Bartley
III and wife Kim of Bella Vista, AR; brother Lonnie Gustin and his wife
Sharon of Girard, KS and her loving pet cat Louie; along with 8
grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Joshua Sitz.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2010
at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Fr. Thomas
Stroot as celebrant. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8pm on Tuesday at Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, where a rosary will be recited
at 7pm. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of
memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Memorial Fund
and/or SEK Humane Society. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.
