Obituaries
Ethel Baert 94, of Pittsburg, KS died at her home at 7:52 PM, Saturday,
August 27, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She had been in ill
health for the last 5 years.
Mrs. Baert was born on October 29, 1916 in Mar Town, AR to Glen and
Ada (Brooks) Gaches. She married Jack Baert on May 19, 1933 in
Lamar, MO.
She worked for Anshire Garment Company for numerous years before
retiring from the Parsons Ammunition Plant after 13years. She enjoyed
sewing and was an avid Bingo player.
Survivors include three sons, David V. Baert and Danny G. Baert both of
Joplin, MO and Richard L. Baert of Pittsburg, 27 grandchildren and 54
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Alice Card of
Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Ada Gaches, two
daughters: Barbara Tierney and Judy Collins, five brothers: Elmer
Gaches, Doss Gaches, Louie “Red” Gaches, Willard Gaches and Gradie
Gaches;three sisters: Jewel Gaches, Vernie Stokes and Pearl Kelly.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS with the Rev.
Richard Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2011
at the funeral home. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS. Condolences
